There are fewer than 10,000 results on Google for the name Carvino with LinkedIn and Facebook profiles interspersed in the search results. It could be anyone, but this vanity plate could belong to the lawyer here in DC named Carvino. but I can’t imagine putting your own name on a vanity plate—especially if you’re a lawyer, but I saw a woman walking away from the car (and the lawyer’s first name is Leanne).

If that is correct and you’re reading, don’t go legal on me!

Seriously, if you’re Italian American and you drive a Mini Cooper, could you have a better vanity plate? Of course, this is also the reason some folks absolutely hate vanity plates.

The elitist attitude of some hybrid drivers amazes me. You’ve probably noticed people that used to seem basically normal who strangely begin to exude a super human presence that extends all the way to the end of their noses as they look down on you for driving your non-hybrid vehicle.

Yes, we get it. Hybrids are the bees knees. Eventually, we’ll all have them. For now, let’s all just try to get along, OK?

I was convinced this vanity plate was meant as an abbreviation for “THE THEATER” until I started writing this blog. Hunting around on Google immediately brought me to the real meaning.

I’m not a Harry Potter fan, so I would have never guessed this one. Wikipedia explains that Death Eaters constitute a group of wizards and witches, led by the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, the chief antagonist of the series, who seeks to purify the Wizarding community by eliminating the Muggle-borns.

I know it’s exciting stuff for Harry Potter fans, but if you don’t sense any excitement here, you are very perceptive and obviously wise (not to mention wonderful). Since I’m not well versed on wizards and such, I won’t know if I see another reference until I check it out on the web. Hopefully, I’ll stumble over a few more to add here later.

I’ve never before or since seen a Suzuki Verona (probably because it’s a Daewoo). I’ll guess this is another enviromental advocate, but the car isn’t a hybrid.

According to Google, Han-nuh Virginia Mercedes is a Googlewhack for The Perfect Baby Name. Of course, these three names are listed on the page, but if I’m ever called upon to help name a female of the species, I’m going with Han-nuh Virginia Mercedes. It has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?

This could be a lot of things, but Google results show a lot of clever folks who make their screen names a proper name version of their initials, “DP” on sites like LinkedIn, Myspace, Facebook, Vimeo and others… but none of them are Marylanders! I actually know a “DP” in Maryland and he used to drive an SUV just like this (a long time ago, so it was older). Hey, maybe it’s him!

This is also a very common business name in India and it could be many other things, so I’m wimping  out on this one and I’ll just guess it’s someone’s initials unless we come up with something else.

Wow, I wish I had seen this back in 2003 when we had the big Chevy HHR contest!

This violates my “don’t put the name of your vehicle on the bumper or plate” rule, but if you love your HHR, more power to you!

The Maryland Vanity Plate “ELEMENT” was available when I went to get new vanity plates recently, but I’m sticking to my guns on this principle.

Mom’s and minivans go together like meat and potatos, peanut butter and jelly, and, of course, macaroni and cheese (and so many other things). We could also have a registered nurse (RN) who may or may not also be a Mother driving this Honda Odyssey. Who knows?

One thing’s for sure. None of us would be where we are without our Mothers!

I’m pretty sure this one’s about a development project in Pakistan. QIE refers to the project as an industrial estate. It could be something else, but this statement and the sparse search engine results for QIE 477 make it pretty certain we have a match…
